And old age grips the mind and body;

And causes vacuum everywhere;

Inch-by-inch, Inch-by-inch, Death marches on silently

And steals life away,

But lose not hope, nor faith, nor cheer,

As life is designed for things sublime

And achievement of perfection, the goal of our very being,
